Aspire Mobile is a phone-friendly companion to your Aspire Budgeting spreadsheet. It is included with an active Aspire Turbo subscription at no additional cost.
Use Mobile for quick decisions and everyday entry. Your spreadsheet remains the source of truth and is still the best place for monthly setup, category configuration, reports, imports, and detailed budget work.
What you can do
Aspire Mobile lets you:
- Check available balances grouped by category group
- Review your 100 most recent transactions
- Add an inflow or outflow with a date, amount, account, category, payee, and memo
- Use the accounts, categories, payees, currency, and date format from your linked spreadsheet
- Write new transactions directly to your Aspire spreadsheet
An internet connection is required to refresh your budget or save a transaction. Previously loaded information may remain visible if your connection drops, but offline transaction entry is not supported.
Before you begin
You need:
- An active Aspire Turbo subscription
- An Aspire Budgeting spreadsheet
- The Aspire Budgeting add-on installed in that spreadsheet
- A computer for the initial spreadsheet-linking step
- A Google account that can access the spreadsheet
Link your spreadsheet
Linking tells Aspire Mobile exactly which budget to use. Aspire Mobile does not search your Google Drive for spreadsheets.
- On a computer, open the Aspire spreadsheet you want to use.
- Open the Aspire Budgeting add-on sidebar.
- Choose Settings & Support.
- Open Aspire Mobile.
- Choose Link this spreadsheet and complete the authorization flow.
Only link a spreadsheet you trust and intend to use with Mobile. To switch budgets later, repeat these steps from the other Aspire spreadsheet.
Sign in on your phone
- Visit app.aspirebudget.com in Safari, Chrome, or another supported mobile browser.
- Choose Sign in with Google.
- Use a Google account that has access to the spreadsheet you linked.
If Aspire Mobile says that a spreadsheet needs to be linked, return to the desktop add-on and confirm that you linked the intended sheet.
Check category balances
The Dashboard shows categories in the same groups used by your budget. Each row shows the amount currently available. Color cues help identify categories that are low, empty, or overspent.
Pull down or use the refresh control when you need the newest changes from your spreadsheet.
Review recent transactions
Open Transactions to see up to 100 of the most recent entries from the linked spreadsheet. Transactions are grouped by date and show the payee or memo, category, account, and amount.
For older history, filtering, or corrections, open the Transactions tab in the spreadsheet.
Add a transaction
- Choose the Add transaction button.
- Select whether the transaction is an outflow or inflow.
- Enter the amount and date.
- Choose an account and category from the linked spreadsheet.
- Optionally add a payee and memo.
- Review the details and choose Save.
Keep the screen open until Aspire Mobile confirms the save. The new entry is written to the linked spreadsheet and will appear in recent transactions.
What still works best on a computer
Aspire Mobile is intentionally focused. Use the spreadsheet and desktop add-on for:
- Initial setup and configuration changes
- Budgeting money and category transfers
- CSV imports and Auto-Categorization
- Reports, Budget Forecast, and other Turbo tools
- Subscription management
- Linking or changing the Mobile spreadsheet
- Editing or deleting existing transactions
Troubleshooting
Aspire Mobile says Turbo is required
Confirm that you signed in with the Google account connected to your active Turbo subscription. If you recently renewed, sign out and back in after confirming the subscription in the desktop add-on.
Aspire Mobile says a spreadsheet is not linked
Open the intended spreadsheet on a computer and repeat the linking steps. Be sure the Google account you use on your phone can access that spreadsheet.
Categories or accounts are missing
Confirm that they exist in the linked Aspire spreadsheet, then refresh Mobile. Configuration changes are made in the spreadsheet, not in Mobile.
A transaction will not save
Check your internet connection and confirm that all required fields are selected. If Google authorization has expired, sign in again. Before retrying, check recent transactions or the spreadsheet to make sure the first attempt was not already saved.
The data looks out of date
Refresh Aspire Mobile. If the issue continues, confirm that you are viewing the spreadsheet you intended to link.
