This policy applies to all products built and maintained by Aspire Budgeting, including our Google Sheets™ add-on, spreadsheet templates, Aspire Mobile, and the Turbo subscription service (together, "Aspire Budgeting Services").
Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here's what that means in practice:
When you use the Aspire Budgeting add-on, we may access your name and email address through your Google account. This allows us to manage your subscription and provide customer support. We'll never sell your personal information to third parties, and we won't use your name in marketing statements without your permission.
If you start a Turbo trial or subscribe, payment and billing information is submitted directly to Polar, our subscription and payment processor, and does not touch our servers. Polar provides Aspire with the subscription status and customer identifiers needed to grant access and provide billing support.
Our add-on operates within your Google Sheets™ spreadsheet. When you use features such as auto-categorization, transaction descriptions and category names are processed inside Google Apps Script to provide the result in your Sheet. Those add-on operations do not send spreadsheet contents to Aspire servers.
If you use Aspire Mobile, you first link a specific spreadsheet from the add-on sidebar. We store the spreadsheet identifier, name, locale, linking email address, and link timestamps. After Google authorization, our API reads the ranges needed to display your budget and processes changes you request, such as adding a transaction. Spreadsheet data is transmitted through our API for those requests, but we do not retain a server-side copy of your spreadsheet contents or transaction history. Google refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. Polar does not receive your transaction history through Turbo.
When you import CSV files, we log anonymous diagnostic information to help us identify and fix parsing errors. This includes CSV column headers, row counts, the delimiter detected, and whether our auto-detection matched your file format. We also log date and amount patterns from the first few rows to help diagnose formatting issues.
We do not log transaction descriptions, merchant names, account numbers, or any information that identifies you or your spending. Text-based columns are redacted before logging (only the character count is recorded). These logs are retained in Google Apps Script execution history and are used solely to improve CSV compatibility and diagnose import failures.
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to collect information about your browsing activity on our website. This includes your browser and operating system versions, your IP address, which web pages you visited, how long they took to load, and how you arrived at our site. Google Analytics uses cookies (small text files stored in your browser) to distinguish unique users and sessions. We use this information to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve our website and services. We do not use Google Analytics on the add-on itself.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with theGoogle Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing theGoogle Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

These cookies are only set when you visit our marketing website (aspirebudget.com). They are not set within the Google Sheets™ add-on. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use our services.

All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted between our services and your browser. We use secure connections for all data transmission.
Your financial data lives in your own Google Sheets™ spreadsheet, which benefits from Google's security infrastructure. We do not maintain a separate database of your financial transactions.
We keep your information for the time necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. The length of time we retain information depends on the purposes for which we collected and use it and your choices, after which time we may delete and/or aggregate it.
If you cancel your subscription, we will retain only the minimum information necessary for legal and accounting purposes. We do not retain your financial transaction data as it lives in your spreadsheet and is never stored on our servers.
